I don't know Juliane I had some very colorful characters in my family tree but no criminals..... Boys have a real problem controlling their sexual desires I grew up and became a man after a long run of women 10, 20 years my junior about 10 years ago after I lost my ass in a divorce.... It was bad and I never strayed.

 

I got reported for writing "LOL" at a joke here in the wasteland, so it happens. Not something I would do, because I realize I am posting here, and it's a car forum, and guys can get that way, but it does bother me when really stupid stuff gets responded to with high-fives and shit.

Maybe it's all macho posturing but the more you think that way, the more your life turns out that way, the more you justify your actions, the more your life turns out that way, etc. etc. etc.

Screwing people for the sake of it never helps any situation. Sometimes people bring a kid into the world with that kind of unconsciousness, and then where are we???

Yeah it is not what you say, it is how you say it. Even though that was not my statement, I can temper what I say here, showing respect.

The statement is largely true though, it is an almost overwhelming urge put there to insure survival of our species. The "i am going to get me some and not give a damn" is widespread and logical.
Is it the best way to go? I don't think so, certainly not long term.
And it is evolving into God knows what, with 14 year olds taking nekid pics on their cells and sending them to a guy they think is cute.
I do worry about my daughters.........
Kids change you so much, if you had a glimmer of something not being the way to go before kids, it is driven home x 10 with the responsibility of wanting them to grow up right.

Its not something that I've ever done in my life and the likelyhood of it actually happening are slim, but from what I hear the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. Believe it or not, I have always had a problem with the idea of casual sex.... I have to feel more than just an urge, there were a few times while under the influence of alcohol that there were one nighters but that was a very long time ago.... I think a lot of the reason why is due to having always had Mexican American friends that were truly macho, meaning that they had dignity and respected women, children, men that had morals like their own and those that weren't of the same character were looked down upon.... In the Spanish language there are putas and putos meaning female and male whores, in the English language the word whore is only applied to women.... Machismo isn't anything like the way it has been interpreted since the feminist movement.

Yep you got it, parenthood makes you care a lot more, and think about your choices a lot more, and when you see your kids being stupid you want to save them from going through it all...and yet, we all have free will and the ability to make mistakes...in the end I believe it all draws us closer to God...we have to have something to regret and give to Him in pain...

But I think we could all be a lot more honorable and have class...just acting like animals gets us nowhere. our genitals aren't an afterthought in our creation, our pleasure in using them should be to create life when we are READY to do so...What you said about "I am going to get me some and not give a damn" echoes throughout our whole culture, with sex and everything else. Is that really our highest and best?

Life is a serious issue.... I was in the Marines and in Vietnam at the time the sexual revolution that was also called the free love movement, occurred.... I was really shocked at the change in values and peoples behavior when I came home after release from active duty.... Things had really changed a lot during that 19 month period and was getting a lot more news coverage than the war.... Abortion was illegal and it was common knowledge that girls that could afford to were getting them and single mothers that couldn't or wouldn't get an abortion were raising kids alone became common when before there were very few kids growing up without fathers.... The sad thing is things just keep getting worse and creating a new class of people that can't afford advanced education and see no hope. The rich get fat and poor get lean.

 

I don't think she was pushing anything on you, she was simply expressing her views and beliefs. Belief in God would make him very relevant to this conversation. Just as you have every right to say what you want, so should she. This is the wasteland after all, everything goes.

BTW, what does attending a private catholic school prove? Just curious as I do not see a connection. If I attended a private mosque would I be able to interject on Islamic views? Hardly.

Almost as though since you don't agree with how I want to live then I'm making a mistake. Honestly I don't believe in "God," I don't feel like going there right now, but life is not as serious as some make it out to be. There are things one should take seriously.
