LOL...that is true.

I'm reading a fantastic book now... A Thousand Splendid Suns ...it's AWESOME.
By the same author of The Kite Runner...which if you haven't read or seen the movie...you NEED to.

Well you're missing out...modern literature has a lot to offer.

I've read all of those as well-FSF is my favorite of those.

Grisham? No fun...ewww is correct.

I don't like those kind of books at all. I could recommend some if you'd be willing. I've been on a reading streak the last few years.

The Kite Runner--Khaled Hosseini
(the one I just read by him...A Thousand Splendid Suns is more of a feminine story while Kite Runner is more masculine)

This Much I Know is True--Wally Lamb

The Unbearable Lightness of Being--Milan Kundera

The Count of Monte Cristo--Alexandre Dumas (an oldie but a goodie)
Bantam abridged is very good

And people are torn on this book, but I did enjoy it--
Pillars of the Earth--Ken Rollett

There are many others that I've enjoyed but they are a bit more of a feminine story--about women--and so you may not relate as well.

She's Come Undone--Wally Lamb

The Way the Crow Flies--Ann Marie MacDonald
(long but really good)

The Virgin Suicides--Jeffrey Eugenides
MiddleSex--Jeffrey Eugenides

I got almost all of these at Half Price Books on the cheap.

If you want to read some real intellectual stuff--

Anything by Hobbes, Locke, Rosseau, Montesquieu

^ lol.

I don't get bicycles really. Though if I saw a black one with neon green sprinkled somewhere like on the wheelspokes, seat, handlebars or something, I might be swayed to get into bike-riding lol

Haha...I like riding bikes but the one that I want to build is kind of cranky right now (no pun intended) and I don't really have the time or money to get it fixed. Not to mention the lack of know how.

I just did a 2 hour wash/detail interior/claybar some outside marring and got $45 bucks...whoot!

The minimalistic simplicity makes this type of bike unique... Notice that there are no brakes or freewheel hub.... That requires the rider to have to pedal all the time and his legs have to provide the resistance necessary to bring the bike to a stop.... Fixed hub bikes pop up on the streets from time to time but have existed in types of velodrome racing since the introduction of the chain driven safety bicycle.

Let me know what you want to do with your bike.... I still have some of my tools that my ex didn't sell off while I was in the hospital or give to her boyfriend.

Well the first thing I need to do is strip it completely down so I can have the frame welded and powder coated (there is one crack). Then I need to put it back together and add some brakes...the brakes are all kinds of mickey moused.

Its a 1990's Aluminum Haro

Haha--I remember the days like that.

Yeah the frame is in really good shape except for the one crack on the bottom of the hub/crank.

I've got to get it stripped, welded, and then coated...after that, I want to build it up with some nice parts...sprocket, chain, some aftermarket forks, handlebars, seat, etc and maybe some mag wheels.

The bitch!!! I manage to get 13 years of stuff in a small van with tons of room left over. Hell it would have fit in a Fit. That was a few decades ago. She even got my 510 Datsun. I got the Dodge and the car payments.
