And the mods I want to do go in this order:

Coil-Overs
Supra TT brakes
Upgrade chassis bracing
Build Engine/Turbo/Build Trans
and mix in random aesthetic changes through out

GBaby asked for this, pics of my Miata lol
$4,000 with 70k miles bought January 6, 2010
when I got it:

green CF hardtop being built for me with lexan rear window:

Tein Flex's

after Tein Flex + RPF1 (8.4lbs a piece in 14"!!)+ Star Specs install day:

meaty-ass extreme summer tires

gutted trunk to save about 50lbs. The wire is the trunk release I disconnected for theft protection

I really love this wheel/tire combo lol

so there you have it. Overall, do I like it more than I liked my Fit?
MPG - 25 vs. 35-40 in the Fit. Fit wins.
Power/weight - 133hp 2200lbs vs. 109hp 2514lbs. Miata wins.
Handling - RWD vs FWD. Miata wins lol :P
Practicality - golf clubs vs. sleeping in the car. Fit wins.
Overall I'd have to say the Miata is loads more fun, but the Fit is definitely a great performer, a good-looker, and infinitely more usable.

I'll go more low when I upgrade the front swaybar, then get a fresh alignment with 2 or more degrees of negative camber lol.
Thanks man, that top is gonna be the shiz. I'll have to lock it down to prevent theft lol
up-close of the hardtop

Nice start on the MX5. I remember on another forum that I used to be on a guy had a red '91 Eunos with 195/50s on a 15x8 black Sportmax (now XXR) 002s that was dumped, roll bared, and used at track events. That thing was so sweet until he drove over some sand in the road which caused him to smack the rear end of it into a light pole.
^ damn that sucks! I know a guy on XXR 002's but his is a 99.
I plan to get a Torsen LSD, 6pt rollbar, swaybar, upgraded brakes, and some aero whizbangs, and then I'm done and going autox'ing most likely next spring. Hopefully I'll have a supercharger by then, or a v8 swap ;D

A rotary swapped MX5 would be cool because its a small, light engine, but one of the major downfall is that you have to rebuilt a boosted rotary engine every 75k miles and that it doesn't make a lot of torque. A 302 (5.0 V8), LT, or LS swap would be interesting. Yes, it would throw the car's balance off but that can be compensated for by tweaking the suspension; however, the V8 of course makes more torque than the rotary. So, its a bit of give and take for either swap.
I personally would love to see a SR20 or V8 swapped MX5 with ITBs.
