A word to the worst thieves ever...

To whomever decided to rifle through the interior of my Laser I just want you to know how stupid you are.

You took my head unit.. and left it on the floor. You tore up my carpets and left everything else. Including a tubular T3 exhaust manifold which was sitting on the floor behind the passenger seat. You left all of my new unmounted electrical hardware including my main power safety shut off.

What the hell were you looking for? Because I hope it was worth it.

You were caught on one of the several night vision cameras mounted on my house, all of which have sound too.

Some of my friends happen to be police officers, from police families. A couple of which have put blood and sweat into this car and others with me. They will be taking prints and DNA which you left all over the car. They have a bit of a vested interest in this because they have spent time on it.

I caught the person who got into one of my old cars in 2003 in less than 48 hours. I will catch you too.

You better pray the police find you first.

Sleep tight.

You gotta be asking yourself what WERE they looking for? I'd be more concerned over the fact that they didn't steal anything. Sucks though, regardless.

That's what's bugging me. There were two of them that I could see on the IR camera and I can hear them talking.

They sound like they are in their late teens and clueless. The "damage" took less than 5 minutes to clean up. They even left the few tools I keep out in the car, my standalone was still there.. all my gauges. They didn't pop the hood and the car fired up as normal.

It looks like they came on foot too. But who knows.

Fortunately, I don't sleep much as it is.

They will be met with some 00 buck shot from my Mossberg if I catch them on my property.

I'll keep you guys posted. I just really hope they are not FF.net members. None of the IL FF guys I have talked to or met in person seem like they would do something like that. Maybe a lurker looking for an easy score.

My guess is they saw the head unit and expected some fancy sound equipment because my trunk was all tore up back by where the battery box is mounted.

Sorry to hear that, it sounds like neighbor hood kids. We have problems hear too, but in bigger groups.

Ya I am still looking into this. It looks like I or someone came home and interupted them.

So in the mean time everything has been locked down, all the yard and flood lights are on, the police and neighbors got the heads up and everyone is pretty pissed about the idea of some petty thiefs potentially targetting them.

These guys almost assuredly will be found.

I have been scouring eBay and Craigslist in case they swiped something I didn't notice, but nothing so far.

HAHA... go get em.

I wonder if its the same twits that tried to break into my brother-in-laws Pathfinder (when I was borrowing it). I think they were using a crowbar to try and pry the doors open, but they never made it in. Put some dents around the door and bent the doors ever so slightly though.

I filed a police report and the cops were scratching their heads too. I'm no car thief, but I'm pretty sure there are quicker/easier ways in, even if you were trying to steal the PF itself... I mean, they had a crowbar, bust a window! What, did they think popping the door that way wouldn't set off the alarm?sheesh. the cops agreed. They took some photos and did a little dusting for prints.

But, there was this time that I was in San Diego, in my Mitsubishi Mirage at a Walmart. When I came out with my dad, we saw a guy going through my car. He yanked my HU (3rd for that car!)... and my "man bag" full of stuff (psp, mp3 player, phone, etc). I was yelling at him: What the fuck are you doing?!? And he tried walking, WALKING, away casually. When my dad and I flanked him, he put my stuff in the bed of a pickup truck and after a few more feet, made a dash out of the lot. Debated chasing after him, but my dad reminded me... if he has buddies, I'd be better off letting him go. So I let him go, not that I could do much, my dad has more muscles than I do!

BTW, I think he got into the Mirage by forcing the window down, when I left it a crack open for some air (San Diego, middle of summer).

That's crazy and I agree you shouldn't chase them down as tempting as it is. You know I am not exactly a small dude and actually have a bit of a tendency to want to fight, but for legal purposes once I am off my property things could get hairy in court if something went down.

Whether it be fists or firearm.

But in the event of the latter... first round is rock salt, the next two are buck shot and the last ones are 585 grain deer slugs in a 3" mag shell.

I forgot about this thread. Yes they were caught. Group of kids walking home from a nearby mall "garage shopping." Apparently they were looking for subwoofers and shit.

That is all I will comment on as this is still on-going. I am trying to make this a learning experience for them, and one their parents will never let them forget.

Two of them already have prints on file for petty theft.

Hopefully the police nab them......I'd be carefull about shooting anybody if I lived in Chicago, the gun laws there protect the criminals.

I need some tips from you. I'm about to put my house on lockdown. My car has been hit once a year for the past three years. This time they broke the window and smashed my door in with a concrete block causing $1700 in damages.

I doubt they are members of this Forum... they probably can't read. I'm all for shoving some shifters up their asses until they die a horrible death. They make life horrible for the rest of us.

Unfortunately, having known the police in my long lifetime, all this incident will get is another police report. You'll get the same response I've gotten numerous times from the police... "That's what you buy insurance for!!!."
