Hood Deflectors Now At Zeta Products
If you are careful, removing the clips from the hood should not cause any harm. If you let someone else do it, the opposite will be the case. Since the hood is being repainted, your care should be in preserving the integrity of the plastic clips, not the paint. Small, electronic flat blade screwdrivers could be used to pry the clips away from the edges of the hood without stretching the clips apart enough to cause damage.
Use a hair dryer, or heat gun at a low setting, to gently heat the bumpons until you can peel them off your hood, and save them. Then use rubber contact cement from your local hardware store to re-cement them to the hood. You can also find similar clear adhesive-backed pads at the same hardware store.
Ordered mine from Zeta on the 19th, arrived on the 26th, installed this afternoon. Install was easy, a rubber mallet helped to fully seat the clips (didn't get a chance to warm up the parts in the sun.)
I installed the bump-ons like it said in the instructions, and after I was done I saw there was lots of clearance. The only way to make the deflector contact the bump-on was to push down on one spot so that the plastic looked completely deformed. If it was wind resistance, it would push on it evenly all the way across, so I doubt it would come close to touching. They may give others some peace of mind, but I'll probably end up taking mine off just to make it a little easier to wash and dry under there.

God I love my install, I think those bump ons are for when something hits the deflector... =P
Also, it's a great item that gives your car a really aggressive look.

Some pix of my install (finally). The second one shows the gap between the plastic and the bump-ons and hood. The deflector does make a more aggressive look. Kindof reminds me of football players wearing war-paint.

What a nice Christmas gift from Angelo to fitfreaks.net!!!
