We have a working prototype of our dead pedal. The finished product will be black and have some slight visual differences. We are SOOOOOO close!

Woah a pic! Yay! Will the final product be all plastic, metal covered in plastic, or...?

Non-slip finish, like rubber ribs or something?

Very cool, I like where it mounts.

The finished surface will be a no-skid material.

The pedal mounts behind the side kick panel and uses the hood release latch mounting points.

that looks great, but is it going to be supportive? it looks like the dead pedal is gonna move if someone puts pressure on it. can u provide a pic of the back of it i'm just curious. Looks like a great location and everything. I hope there is no plastic cutting involved in that small kick panel.

The back of the pedal will have a foot that hits the floor at the wheel hump. There is NO plastic cutting in the installation!

^ It gives you a place to rest your left foot, since you shouldn't be doing anything with it while you're driving. Without a dead pedal, I tend to either put my food in an uncomfortable position on the floor mat or I put it up on the carpet... which gets it dirty.

Hope that answers your question

Also, I think the dead pedal got it's origin from the track where you needed a platform to help stabilize your body with your left foot during hard cornering.

^ I didn't know that, but it makes sense!

Another thing I forgot, it helps keep both your feet even, to help keep your body and spine straight and prevent fatigue on longer drives.
