2007-8 Automatic Transmission Filters
Does anyone have access to the Factory Repair Manual? I'd like to confirm that Honda uses two filters on the Fit's automatic transmission ... one external and one internal. I'd also like to know the Honda part number of the internal filter.
Alternatively, I'd be interested to know if anyone has changed their Fit's internal transmission filter or had it changed at a dealer.
The external filter is well documented in other threads at this site but may not need to be replaced. It might be a coarse filter intended to trap large metal shavings.
The internal filter has not been referenced at all in this, or other, Forums that I can find. It is well referenced on mail order parts sites. In particular, Beck/Arnley (part 044-0343) and AC Delco (part ACTF100M) seem to offer internal filters and kits. If this is correct, internal filters should be changed along with the pan gaskets, etc. on a regular basis.
