Is the "A/C filter" as described in the manual only for the A/C or does it filter any outside air. For example, when using the heater, is the air passed through this filter?

It seems to me the same blower could be used to save weight and therefore would use the same filter.

are you referring to the micron filter above the blower fan? if so, it's the same.
