OK...just picked up my FIT

OK, here's my story again:
2008 Sport Fit/AT/incl. splash guards
Out-the-door....$17,550.00
( Morris County,NJ....7% tax )

UPDATE : Oct. 6.... Dealership sends me a check for $58.00 because they over estimated ( yeah,sure they did ) for registration & title papers.
So, my OTD price is actually under $17,500.00 now.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's how it played out this morning---
Honda DOES NOT make splash guards for the Sport model, only the base model....weird !!! Maybe down the line we'll see them. I told them to throw in the rubber floor mats instead....they still have to order them....OK...cool.
The finance guy tried to work me over with the extended warranty....something like $ 1,960.00 ? ( 8 yrs/120,000 miles) if I buy it now.
Once I drive off the lot, the price of the warranty goes up & I only get 5 yrs/65,000 !!!!!!!! Give me a break !!!
He then said if I come back within 2 days, I can get it for $1500.00
Yeah...IN YOUR DREAMS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will research this stuff without someone breathing down my neck.
OK, now....what brand of splash guard is available for my 2008 Sport Fit & where do I go ????? ( Never mind....nothing commercially available yet )
There doesn't seem to be any aftermarket splash guard made specifically for the Fit Sport...only the base model.
yeah the splash guards wont fit on the sport model due to the sports lip kit. Doesn't matter tho it looks whack on the sport model.
yeah the offered me that crap as well. But the funny thing is the finance guy fished for the info earlier by asking "who works on your cars" and I said me and my friend. which then would clearly mean i dont want any extra warranty garbage.
Yeah no mudflaps. I would like to have some too for the fit. You may want to by aftermarket ones liek sparco. its just a flat piece of plastic. I definitely want somethig for when the salt and snow hits the ground. although my car was covered in that Ziebart crap (had no choice came with the car)
I paid $17363 which included Ziebart underbody, paint, and upholstery protection (whatever that is), Cargo cover for free, and I had to pay 87 for the all season mats but the 87 is in that $17363
Welcome to the forum. Like everyone else has already iterated, no splash guards due to the lip kit. All of those financing guys with warranty claims are total BS. They make commission off of warranty sales, so they will use scare tactics sometimes to try and get your signature.
BTW, good to have another Yee (if that is your last name) on the forum
Congrads for getting your car! Funny how they all need to sell that extended warranty - waste of money! They keep insisting they don't make any money off of the Fit guess that is why they don't want to sell a bunch of them because they make more money selling the Civic SI.
Cat :x
Picking mine up tomorrow night. VBP as well. I will update everyone with pics and OTD pricing... I am so excited! Does anyone have any tips for pick up? Is it better to try and get floor mats or the rear trunk cover at the purchase, or after the sale? Any thoughts would be great!
Thanks in advance.
it sort of doest work if you already agreed on a price. you kinda need to work it in as you are negotating. at least that is how i did it. kinda awkward to say "so where's my free accessories" blah blah blah as you are signing the paperwork and getting the keys to the car
one thing that pisses me off is there is a Honda dealership not to far from here that offers $400 of free accessories on ANY new honda car purchase. I called and asked if that applies to Fits. and they said NO. man false advertising.
oh yeah its porlly too late but make sure you look at your car very carefully before you sign ANYTHING.
Everything seems cool with my car....got it on 9/25/07.
I'm just a little frustrated trying to do some basic stuff with the paddle shifters. I had one of the Honda guys drive me around to try to explain it to me. I have absolutely NO CONCEPT of shifting gears. I only plan to use it on hills for now...just wanna get my feet wet with this gear stuff.
Thanks for the good advice. I couldn't get any good accessories just yet. But I will be getting floor mats soon. My OTD price was USD$16153. Thanks for all the advice. Here is a picture of my 2008 VBP Fit.
