I just had my '09 tinted today. I decided to keep it legal here in FL so I believe it is 30 on the front windows and 15 for the rest. I had a strip placed across the top of the windshield as well. I think it looks good. I'll shoot some pics this weekend when she gets a bath.

Where you guys get to tint the whole windshield at? Its illegal to do that right? At least in Tx i know it is.
By the way, I'm getting my 09 SSM Fit Sport window tinted tomorrow. I have a chose of either LLumar High Permance Charcoal 30 front 15 back or LLumar Platinum Plus 35 front and 20 back. Which would look better on SSM Fit??

Yes doing a whole windshield is very illegal, BUT...so is going to dark on the back windows or any window for that matter. Mine is done like 45% and from far away you cant see in the car at all, but right up on the car, it looks like factory glass.

After having that percentage on it, i wont own another car with out it. Night time driving is even WAY clearer that without. You dont get blinded by oncoming headlights.

I hope to post pictures this weekend.

It's actually totally dependent on the state. From what I've read CT doesn't care about the rear window if you have side mirrors.

Finally got off work before dark and snapped a couple quick photos of the car (dirty from 4 days of raining) with the tint. It has 45% on the entire windshield and 20% on all sides and back.

got my car tinted earlier today

I have 50% on the sail and front windows, and 15% on everything behind that. I can't roll my windows down until Tuesday, but thats ok. My car will be 1 week old tomorrow.

Tint

Had all my windows minus the windshield tinted today. Done by Expert Window Tinting Plus for $245. Car Window Tinting San Diego, CA - Expert Window Tinting Plus"
I chose the 3M FX-HP 30 Film. Light rejection and minimal heat gain were my main objectives.

Now for some bad luck, my windshield was hit by a rock on the way to the tint shop and I now have a vertical crack about 18 inches long. I was going to get a protective film put on to minimize such incidents. It was supposed to be installed along with my tint. The dealer quoted me $800, but i found a company that will do it for $215. Safelite actually quoted me $1000. At least my new windshield will be installed in less than 14hrs and I can get the protective film installed on Wednesday. The tint shop website has some info on that stuff.

Oh yeah, my car is an 09 Sport. Purchased last week.

How is the glass tinted from the factory if it isn't the film that we have installed? I wish the Fit had a stronger natural green tint like on most of its other models.

It's actually tinted glass. NOT film. The glass has some kind of pigment or something in it.

Now that my windshield has been replaced, I decided to get the sun strip done, but not the protective film. The film costs as much as new glass.

I went below the AS1 Line! Breakin' the LAWW!

No offense to anyone that has tint like this, but I hate the look you get with lighter tint up front and dark in the back. I know that is the law in most states (including mine) so the lawmakers can be thanked for that.

I just got my tint done, 15% Solarguard HP Supreme all around, no strip on the windshield. Price was $149. What a difference it made! Not only does the car look much nicer, but the Florida sun has been put at bay in my car now.

I had the same thing on my last car for nearly 10 years and never had the police look twice at it. And I had been pulled over for other stuff. Cops in Florida just don't care because they know the sun is so brutal here all year round. Even the police cars look like they have illegal tint.

If live in the Tampa area, I can't recommend this guy enough. He does fantastic work and for a great price. He did my last car and the tint was still perfect after nearly 10 years.
