I think he means there is a sound while moving the shift lever, which has nothing to do with how the clutch engages.
I have a feeling the plasticky sound/feel comes from the rubber bushings used to mount the shift plate to the chassis. H-fit (
H-Fit.com ...Products for your GD3 / GD4 / GE8 Honda Fit...) sells a metal bushing kit designed to tighten up the shifts. Honda Tuning Mag gives the kit a good review. I haven't tried it myself.
I agree though, it's hard to shift quickly in the Fit. I feel like I'm going to break the whole shift mechanism when I do it.
