All you need to hook your iPod up to your Fits Aux input is this.
This is mine it's short but they come in various lengths.

While this doesn't charge your iPod it works just the same. Plug one end into the iPods headphone jack and the other into the Aux jack.
You can find it here at Radio Shack for about $4 with a 6' cable. I use this to play MP3's using my Archos Jukebox and the Aux jack.

You can always get an auto charger for the iPod and have it pluged in and charging while using this since it doesn't get in the way of the charger connection because it uses the headphone jack.
