Anyone else hate the cold weather?

Now that it's freezing outside, I definitely notice a difference in my mpg. The MM used to give me an average of 45mpg all the time and now it's down around 39mpg. I used to be able to fill up once a week but now I'm filling up once every 6 days or so. I'm driving the same way, it has to be because of the cold weather, it takes forever for me to get the rpm's below 2k when driving in the mornings. Also the engine randomly revs up fast over 2k when I'm accelerating slowly...ugh.

Hate cold Ohio!

Hi Neighbor! We have pretty much the same type of weather and our first snow fall was just yesterday. I
can't stand the winter time. It doesn't cause any problems for my mpg but just that I can't wash and detail my car so it looks great all the time. It is suppose to be in the mid 40's on Sunday so I will plan to wash it up and have it looking good for Monday morning when it goes back to Honda for it's 2nd oil change.

Cat :x

i love the cold. more oxygen molecules per cubic inch of air is better performing engine.

actually it is the gas you are using. all fuel companies have a summer and winter mix. the winter mix has some additives that cause bad fuel economy but help your car in other ways.

Vintagesierra...

At what speeds do you drive at to reach 40+ Mpg? What's the terrain like?

Getting 45mpg is cruising at 55mph on the highway, a little hills here and there but not bad terrain.

you can build a warm-air intake. route the intake piping to near the header. it will bump your MPGs up again.
