FM Reception

I have a new to me '07 base...I was not thinking about changing the head unit quite yet...but FM radio reception is horrible...is this common on teh Fits or is there something amiss? My other cars radio reception is fine in the same areas.

I appreciate the help.

My stock radio had perfect reception. Honda typically has very strong antennas, especially with the new connectors they started using in 2006. I'd pull out your headunit and see if anything is going on behind it. The previous owner may have installed an FM modulator or done some other work that may have compromised the integrity of the antenna.

i would check the condition of the treads on the antenna. remove it, clean it, add some switch lube.

my stock radio was fine as far as receiption too... im currently
running aftermarket with HD radio on the same antenna. no aftermarket
antenna booster or anything.

What they said.

If the previous owner swapped radios and then put the stock back in, he/she might have left the antenna disconnected.

I've done that before. But you should get awesome reception or i'm just really really lucky.
