Top speed

Hello everybody. I was wondering if anybody reached the top speed in their yet. I tried, but for my stupid luck, I got pulled over. Thankfully with my stupid luck once again, I was let go. But I was jsut wondering what the top speed would be on it.

The highest I got was 130mph at a freeway, AND I do not recommend anyone else to go that speed in pubic streets.

I reached 120MPH going through the desert to Las Vegas. Actually was extremely suprised how well the car held up . But as stated above I do NOT recommend trying this @ HOME.

I'm pretty sure most cities have ordinances that limit the length of the grass. I'm hoping the grass is cut on those pubic streets.

I believe the speed limiter on this particular car is 129/130MPH. It may also depend on what modifications you have done to your FIT.

I did it on HW85, where now that I think about it there was a slight downhill. And this was just after break in so the car is stock.

I just did it so I know when the car would get unstable, since my corolla get VERY unstable at 85mph. And since I know that THIS IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL ANYWHERE, I took a look around the freeway for cops.

Once again I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend do this on public street. You do this at the track.

I got a little over 100 before I ran out of road (closed course, professional driver, of course). This same stretch of road would let my old Daytona get up to 120+, so the difference in power (about 2x the Fit's) was pretty obvious. I'll have to try again when I get access to the track by myself...

What? I thought the Fit had a governor! (not Arnold) Whats the point of one if you can hit 130! haahaaa

My 7th gen civic (w/governor stock) was at about 110mph but you could trick/cheat it to 120.

really? I have been about at that and the car (relatively speaking felt pretty planted)

I guess I should ask what was the unstable feeling? Was it traction, body roll, did the car just feel floaty, darty, mousey, squirrely, was it windy and wandered, were you on the gas then lifted completely off?

on a side note....
the steering control on this car oddly seems to be more well behaved as the speed picks up, any chance its electronicaly adjusted/proportional to speed. hmmmmmm nahhhhh, must be that little F/R spoiler on our FS's

I hit 110mph. It was bouncy on stock suspension, but will be better when I am lowered.

I hit 131 mph going downhill and it didn't seem like it was going to slow down anytime soon! of course i ran out of road and slowed down, but the car still felt stable, could have done more imo.

1LegitFit will become famous soon enough
The unstableness comes from either high winds, unbalance wheels, rough road or unbalance weight distribution on your Fit. If all these are taken in consideration, a higher stability at high speed can be achieved. Also an uneven worn tires can make a car unstable. Disclaimer: I don't condone high speed driving but if you're going to take a chance, be accountable for your actions.
