Top speed
100mph on the flat stretch of US interstate 80 just east the Bonnevile Salt Flats in Utah. It was Thanksgiving Day 2012 and there was not much traffic so I opened-up the throttle. There was a fair amount of weight in the car and a strong westerly headwind so ~100mph is my current max speed in the Fit.
60mph on the actual Bonneville Salt Flats racetrack but I didn't to go any faster since the salt was slick/slushy in places and the traction control system was working overtime. But I had a lot of fun that day with the traction control off, practicing handbrake turns and slides at lower speeds.
If you have the opportunity then go try it out!
(I'd post pics but I don't have an account with an online photo sharing site.)

Or just use the GPS to measure your speed; a GPS can determine speed quite accurately.
As an aside, GPS units can determine speed more or less directly by comparing the relative speeds of the satellites they are "listening" to (as determined by doppler shifts in the signals relative to each other), rather than by comparing position fixes over time. Position is determined from the differences in the time required for the signals to reach the receiver from various satellites, which gives the difference in distance between pairs of satellites.

Still waiting for video/photographic/FlashPro datalog proof. Not saying I don't believe people, just saying it would (hopefully) silence the naysayers.
Thanks for the explanation. GPS also has a slight delay, so if one were to momentarily reach, say, 116mph/186kph, the GPS might register a slower speed. I have a device for my motorcycle which registers the top speed in real time. I have used that and a GPS speedometer for my smart phone (because who doesn't have one of those and can't download a free app for top speed) and have found that the top speed on the GPS is lower than on my motorcycle. That may be attributed to me twisting the throttle to a speed that I felt comfortable at then instantly letting off the throttle before the GPS could catch up. With all that said and with how slow the Fit is, I don't think that we will have that problem.

If my tranny is fixed by Feb 24th, I am going over to Suzuka to run the full course, I'll see what I can pull down the back straight into 130R and will be able to attain a higher speed on the main straight (hopefully) since will be coming out of the hairpin versus wrapping back onto the main straight from the esses.
There is no denying that the Fit is a slow ass car, if one says otherwise, well for myself, they are very much delusional and have not really gone fast before. That is not to say the Fit is not a fun car to drive, because as much as I crave additional power when out on circuit (K power because I don't care for FI as much as I do mekatuned) the damn car always puts a smile onto my face when pushing it hard, plus passing other more powerful cars because their drivers have Miss Daisy in the back or something and I get looks of "WTF?!?!".

So, funny related story. Shortly after posting in January I decided to see how fast my 2007 Fit could go. I got off work early one night and there was no traffic on the freeway. I hit the speed limit (65mph/105kph) and kept on going up to a little more than 80mph/129kph and got second thoughts about the next 50mph/80kph ahead of me and decided to back off. Well, a split second after thinking that I saw flashing lights behind me. They popped up out of nowhere! Luckily for me I work with the guy who pulled me over so as soon as he walked up he told me to slow down then walked back to his car.
Damn thats a close one. Those flashing lights are never fun. I think the best place for me to ever open the Fit up would be the drive out east on the interstate 8. El Centro area is below sea level all empty highway for a bit. Maybe on day.

BTW, just so you know, we've performed about a dozen trials of top speeds of Fit on level run averaging both directions and I can save you the trouble. Everyone averaged between 105 and 107 mph. we get a little leery of claims over 110 mph unless it was downhill on an interstate with a tail wind. Both ways.
I was able to hit over 100mph fully stock on a flat piece of highway, no wind.
I can almost hit 100mph going up what us locals call ten-mile hill. the first half is too easy, hit 75mph quickly since Im already doing highway speed of 60mph The other half is spend doing that last 20-25mph LULZ
EDIT the hill is not one section of ten miles. it goes up, flat, down, flat, up. The first section is approx one mile. which I did the test

I truly believe if there were no speed limiter, I could rev out 5th gear. Its only 138mph, and all my mods have improved midrange and high rpm power quite a bit.
I wouldnt be surprised at all if a fully stock GE8 hit it either, though all us men might have ZZtop beards afterwards waiting lol

no, that is the supposed topspeed of a GE8 able to hit redline in 5th gear of the manual.
Course, I would be over 144mph, I have bigger tires.
My guess is the speedlimiter is 125mph or so. I have done 115mph according to my GPS, which is supposed to be accurate to 0.5mph

I've never had my Fit over 90 I think, too much traffic in this area.
I'd love to drive it to the max speed somewhere though or at least break 100.
My Fit begins to breathe much better around 75-80 MPH and up, not so fuel efficient though.

I've hit over a 100mph a few times easily. Nothing over 110mph I believe. Although I never tried too. Once the car gets out of the shop I'll head out east where the road is below sea level and there is no traffic. Should be able to get a good 2-3 Mike stretch to open up on.
Top Speed
2015 LX CVT
Top Speed: 118mph
Did not feel like it hit a brick wall or anything. It just stopped right there but had more power to push through, like the ECU limited it there.
At least that's what I heard.

And of course you ran in both directions wihin 5 minutes and averaged the two.
I get 130 downhill in one direction.
but 2 way runs yield top speeds in the 110 mph region.
within five minutes? where did you come up with that number?
