Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this issue. But EVERY time it rains, I lose radio reception for atleast one day after it has stopped raining. Has happened since I bought the car 2+ years ago when it was as stock as stock gets.

Just last week mine when down, there's a Amplifier at the bottom of the antenna mast and water got thru .
If your signal come back after a couple day your Amp is still good thigh the screw at the bottom of the mast for a better water seal and should be good to go.

up here in washington i get back reception every time its sunny out cause of so much rain. ha ha ha. i have no problems with it. if you have evidence of it getting bad signals before your aftermarket head unit then put the original back in and make them warrenty it.

I think you got to drop the headliner to actually tighten the base.
Dealer should do this for you! bBut taken apart, everything cleaned and dried, you could use some electrical conductor grease on the mast and base and you could silicone the base and gasket to the roof. That would be a permanent fix IMO

so i went to check on my car...had some spare time. I opened the hatch, removed the weather stripping........water all over my headliner. WEAK!!!!!!!!!! no i have the glorious task of taking out the headliner..oh well, it needs a new pattern up there while I am at it, i may as well put some friggin insulation there too

whoa, this is something i should keep in mind. gimme, did that solve your problem?
also you removed the entire headliner? you say installing insulation between the headliner and the body, but would it get all damped and stuff due to the roof getting cold n such?
anyways that seems like a good idea. mind sharing how to take out the headliner if you did so? thanks.

Certainly hope that fixes it for you.. Honestly I rarely use my radio. The reception is terrible... I lose all of my Flint radio stations as soon as I get 20 miles away from flint...

If you guys are having problems with radio reception, you should look into an RC style antenna. I got mine from my friend's VW.
Yeah, me too. Reception was awful! The dealer (Alberta Honda) told me "Scratchy noise is normal in the city. No one listens to the radio anymore. Use the CD player like everyone else". Honest in front of God; that is what he said! When we continued to complain, he drove it around the block and said "A little bad reception is nothing to complain about and there is nothing abnormal about a scratchy radio. All the Fits are like that. Warrantee won't cover a problem if we don't hear a problem". I installed a 17" wire wrapped antenna. It helped immensely. Others have reported excellent results with installing the Toyota matrix antenna.
