The Shell Game:
This one has a very nice interior, coil overs all the way round, No rust its a Cali car and the first owner was a young lady in the army. As the legend goes the first owner kept this Si for a long time and then she gave it to a relative here in VA. And he had a shop add a turbo and traction bars etc. Which was a mess so he sold the car to John a young gear head that put a few different swaps in it, & lots of dings. But kept the car's interior stock. This is where I come in and start another project. My intentions are to do the bodywork and paint it then sell it and roll that into the eg we have. But as I am working this car I see a really original car here at my shop that for the most part is a solid Si. The doors open/close easily, it hasn't been wrecked, the gaps are right, original worn black paint (not 6 color changes) and all the trim is in good shape!
Today is the first day that's been nice enough to start on the bw so start at the top and work my way to the bottom. The roof had a number of Dink's here and there the worst was at the corner of the sun roof where it looks like a typical bottom fist hit. I have had a few hatchs and all but one has had these; I'm pissed so I'll hit the roof dents. The 88 standard i owned had the worst roof dents. On that one I used dry ice on a hot summer day to pull the dents up. That car was almond with the original paint and she cleaned up very well! https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/pict...27&thumb=1This roof is great compared to that one! Then the next area was right behind the wing it looked like someone was using it for a lay down area for some heavy parts. Removed the wing and laid down a thin wipe of dura lite across the back. I have satin black primer I'm going to paint the roof when its done.
