Honda Fit Aria 2007 - GD08. Misfiring/Skipping Issue.

Hi Guys,

I am using a car with below details:
Honda Fit Aria 2007 - GD8 Version
(VIN: 7AT08G2YX13501053
Engine No: L15A-1700508
Chassis: GD8-1501053)

I am having some misfiring or jerking sort of problem in my car. There are no warning engine lights but whenever i am trying to accelerate, at times, my car misfires (or skips a beak kind of thing). Honda services centre diagnosed that something is wrong with the rear ignition coil number 1 (Suspected....not confirmed). The price they quoted was in range of $200 and without any guarantee of fix, i just didn't go ahead with that.
I looked for some hitachi coils on ebay which are fairly cheaper and i am willing to have it replaced myself. But before that, i want to make sure that i ororder the correct part.
Would anyone be able to tell me the OEM number of the coil suitable for me?
The link of ebay item is https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Hitachi-Ignition-Coil-CM11-110-for-Honda-Fit-2007-2008-1-5L-L4-30520-PWC-003-/302492381765

Thanks

Did you ever replace your coil? Sounds like that's the likely issue. Replace all 4 at the same time, and buy the Denso brand could (what the car came with). You should be able to get all 4 for about $160+/- and install yourself. 10mm socket and a wire harness clip per coil pack. The dealer has a retail mark-up, which makes doing all 4 quite expensive. I think you can find them on amazon... enter your vehicle info and search "Denso coil pack" or something like that.

Thanks very much with your reply. I replaced spark plugs and it worked. Costed me only $20.
If it didn't work, the next step would be to replace the coils.

I've been getting misfiring with random shaking for 2 years. i mostly notice during idle at stoplights (not as bad in park if i remember correctly), but it also happens while driving. When it originally happened 2 years ago at around 100k. I got P0847 P0302 P0301 P0304 P0300. I performed maintenance 4 spark plug replace and valve adjustment and have always had the shaking without any check engine lights. sometimes i drive without any misfire/shaking, but usually notice it at some point. this week i got 3 check engine lights with the engine dying on the highway for only a second and then comes back to life and the check engine light goes away. brought it to the dealer and of course there are no codes and they couldn't reproduce the issue (one of those days it just runs perfect by chance). Out $140 in worthless troubleshooting. I'm assuming the spark plug and valve adjustment isn't the issue since it was shaking right after they did that. now I'm thinking coils. any way for me to confirm coils without just blindly replacing those costly buggers?
Also, the P0847 3rd clutch trans fluid pressure sensor switch issue from two years ago i'm not sure if it was ever fixed. Any chance this is related? guessing not since it happens at all gears, not just 3 and can go past 3.
thanks!

Replace the coils and do all 4 at the same time. It's an easy fix... 10mm socket and 10 minutes of time if you're recently comfortable with tools. Each cool has a wire harness clip that needs to be included and one 10mm bolt securing it. Use the Denso brand coils the car came with from the factory... don't buy the cheap replacement brands sold at many auto part stores.

Your spark plugs needed replacing (I assume you replaced with Denso plugs) and valves adjusted around 100k miles anyway, so good that you did that. I had engine skipping symptoms on my 2007 Fit as you describe. New coils fixed it. Hope that helps!

Try replaceing the computer unit

When my old 2005 started to shaking during idle i changed the spark plugs, however the car would turn off for a second then turn back on untill i replace the computer unit

The old unit had power failure and would trigger the cvt and dashbord to reset ( turning off and on )

It is worth checking due to the cvt reset, as it can cause the gear to grint into the belt and ware it faster
