Need mechanical advice for my 08

Custom T-rex V-tec Fit sport automatic
Thanks for reading this post! First question I have is does the fit need both radiator fan and condenser fan if I have the ac system eliminated? My 2008 fit sport GD is in my custom T-rex replica. Well since I dont have AC on my t-rex, I took the AC condenser fan out to have more room to work around. My radiator fan is direct connect to a switch. So I switch it on only after car is on. 9 months ago, I replaced and flushed out the radiator and filled with new honda fluid antifreeze, new thermostat and also new oil and filter for both transmission and engine. I also replace radiator sensors. Drove south in Florida 6 hours and no over heating. 9 months later today after sitting I finally fire it up and ride out. 5 minutes later, it started rising in temperature and red H started blinking. I pulled over 5 times back n forth til I made it home. Fluids came out. So I refilled. Radiator fan works great. Why might it be overheating? Any idea? Do I need the condenser fan even though there's no AC? I'm not sure if that fan comes on with rising temperatures or only if I had AC system. Let me know if that condenser fan also works with high temperature.

Really? Man I ended up throwing it away thinking since no AC, it wouldn't turn on but if you say it does even without AC then I'm gonna have to go find one. I threw out the old one. I should of kept it in the garage. Thank you for the rapid response.

Doctor J, I have a new question. I finally got both fans. Since I don't have ac, I made a direct switch for the ac condenser fan so I can turn it on whenever needed. The radiator fan turns on with the temp sensor. After a long while with both fans on, red warning light of heating starts blinking. The hose at the top of the radiator is cool but the hose from the engine that connects to the bottom of the radiator is hot! I can only assume that the new thermostat installed 9 months ago is not working since this vehicle sat for 9 months. No corrosion and I made sure enough anti freeze is in the radiator and reservoir. Before I go thru the hassle of pulling the thermostat again, I need your input please.

Can you post a picture of your radiator hose to engine connection?
(looks like inlet and outlet hoses are reversed)
Also make sure that the condenser fan is not rotation in opposite direction.
You can wire condenser fan parallel to the engine fan; the 25 amp relay should be able to handle it

Ok. Well I have the condenser fan on a switch since I have no AC. The fan work great. The radiator fan kicks on when temp rises so once I hit the switch for the AC fan, both fans work. I ended up buying a new radiator cap 1.1 cause it looks like the old on wasnt holding the pressure and the antifreeze would over fill the reservoir bottle. I will take a pic of the hoses and update you today.

1.1 bar is the correct pressure.
Please check your hose hookup using thread below

Doctor J, thank you for your help. That diagram helped me understand the flow of coolant and I took the thermostat out and tested it. I bought a new one also and this time from Napa. Both were same brand but looked different. The old one from Autozone still worked in boiling water but I think the design didn't open as quickly as the one from Napa. I changed it out and now the coolant flows with no issues. Now it takes alot longer to warm up during idle. Once I get my exhaust done this week I will be able to test drive better and get the coolant to circulate and heat up better thru flow.

It's unrelated but aftermarket parts suck (especially for older imports). Make user you have enough air flow through the radiator (you may have to make a duct if needed)

I get plenty of air flow thru the sides of the T-rex fiberglass aerodynamic design plus 2 fans. Now it's taking longer to rise temperature. Thank you so much for your expertise.

Advice

There is a set procedure when you change the coolant. It’s basically to get all the air out so that you do not get air trapped. I found this link which will guide you. You may have some air trapped.

Thanks buddy. I finally got all the air out and new thermostat replacement which helped alot. The previous thermostat was installed by a mechanic who used a thermostat from autozone but I guess it ended up getting stuck. I went to Napa Autoparts and theres is a better design but the same name, motored. I appreciate everyone's help. Now I'm trying to figure another issue that I hear its supposedly common. The transmission makes a harsh bang sound once a while in drive but not in sport mode. I have flushed the fluid several times and now finally refilled with DW-1. I will try to ride it today to see if it still making that harsh sound or if it's fixed but the proper fluid.
