Exclamation Identify where the smoke is coming out of

I have a 2007 Honda Fit Sport Manual

The clutch pedal started sticking today, wouldnt come back up.
Pulled over and found a bunch of smoke coming out of the engine bay, but not sure what this hole is.
Any ideas of what I should check would be of help before i visit the mechanic:

How'd it smell? That's almost definitely coming from the clutch. If the pedal wasn't coming back up, the clutch wasn't fully engaged, so it slipped. Clutches get really hot, really fast. Hopefully it's not burned up.

Smelled like a campfire lol.
seems like the clutch needs replacing.
when I engage the clutch pedal sparks fly out of that hole, so there must be some bearings or seals messed up in there too...

might be time to get a new fit 😭😭

hi KK Yep sparks flying is a good indication, but don't throw the baby out with the bath water.
figure what a clutch, flywheel, T O bearing and maybe a new slave cylinder will cost, and look at the price of a new car.
if your car is in good shape keep it. these little cars if maintenance is keep up out run the ever ready bunny. 400k!
good luck!!
