Power Steering stop working
Power Steering stop working
Hi All,
This is my first post in the forum but I've been reading you for years.
I drive an enjoy a 2008 Fit first generation which I (used to) use to commute: about 10 miles each way during weekdays and very light use during weekends. Right now it has about 85,000 miles
I've been working from home in the last months so my Fit has been sitting there for weeks, I used it like once every two weeks. Last time I tried to drive it the electric power steering stopped working.
I read that's common, but after a "reboot" (like a computer) usually it should start working again.
In my case it looks like it just died, once and for all. It never worked again. I used one of those cheap Bluetooth ODB-2 interface to check for some error code, and the ECU says "no codes", everything look right from the ODB2. I just have the steering wheel symbol on in the dash, "check engine" light is off.
So I was wondering if there is a fuse, I can check. Otherwise, it looks like I might need to go the Honda dealer to see how much $$$ for replace the EPS
I also read here in the forum about recall of the EPS, but I guess my car is too old... I am wrong?
Is there any other thing I can try?
Thanks in advance for your help...
Regards!
