My First Honda Fit!

Hello Honda Fit friends! I am now a proud owner of a First Gen Honda Fit Sport. It's from 2008, and it's "Blaze Orange Metallic" It has about 291K miles, and the clutch is slipping. I got the car for $1550. I feel that this is a steal of a deal, since I got a lot of things with it, listed below.

I got all kinds of cool dealership things, like the Original Window Sticker, An OEM perfect fit sun visor (perfect, because I live in the desert), the import paper (since the car was built in Japan, it was shipped to the USA), both the original keys, and what's really cool, the title says "Honda Finance Corp", and that the title was created when the car had 27 Actual miles. Like I said earlier, it now has 291K.

What makes it cool to me, is that it was purchased from my local Honda dealer, and I saw it when it went in for its passenger airbag replacement, and thought, "I'd love to have that car." fast forward some time, and now I have it, and for a killer deal.

I also own the 2007-2008 Honda Fit Shop manual from Honda. So if you need any pages, I'd gladly hook you up, just personal message me.

One question before I'm out: How might I confirm that the clutch is bad? It slips pretty bad with anything over about half throttle or anything other than keeping current speeds in 5th gear. I just don't really want to replace the clutch and associated stuff, just because of the amount of work.

Any thoughts? Thank you and I'm happy to be a part of the group!

What does the OEM sunvisor look like? I'm not satisfied with my universal fit Walmart one.

Very groovy, daddy-o. The '08s were (to me) a little louder, a little torquier and a little more raw — all great things! Get that clutch fixed and start drivin'.

Sunvisor

I hope you weren’t expecting something very cool or anything. It just fits VERY well. Both sides look like this.

I’m hoping to get started on fixing this bad boy this weekend. Anybody have any tips or tricks for replacing the clutch? Obviously a lot has to come out.

The import paper thing

Even the radio works great

Looks great! May as well have 91k on it.

I don't know how you can positively confirm it needs a new clutch, but if it's slipping there's not much else it could be.

Wellcome to the forum!

That Fit looks like it's in great overall condition, well worth putting in a new clutch if needed IMO. Here's a handy vid from Eric the car guy that may help:
The headlights can be restored with a product like this: Headlight resto kit

Man, I'm not even seeing any paint fade. Any on the roof? It's in great shape too. Now to get that clutch thingy solved.
