Have a 2007 Honda Fit, with 230,000 miles. Recently hearing whirring/humming in the rear end area. It gets slightly louder the faster we go. Any ideas?

 

I have a 07 SSM and recently had the same issue, faster you go the louder it gets. even when your coasting in neutral. As I suspected it was the passenger side front bearing. The mechanic messed up and replaced the driver side, realized his mistake and then replaced the passenger side. So I got them both done and, no more noise.
