It's no secret that I have been rebuilding my newly acquired Honda Fit for quite some time. I have made a few posts a while back about the clutch and the process that that has been.
But these motor mounts are no joke. There are four motor mounts, One on the engine side, two on the trans side, and one connecting the subframe to the trans. I've had to replace three of the four, and this is what they looked like. The two that hold the transmission right under the battery were no issue at all to change.
HOWEVER! The one that connects to the subframe was an absolute pain that I do not wish on my worst enemy. I do not have a lift, so I had to lay on my back for a good long while figuring this one out. To get the metal plate onto the mount, I had to loosen all the subframe bolts, which lowered the subframe enough to allow me to push the motor away and fit the little bugger in. From there, you raise the subframe back up and use a jack to hold the motor and trans in place (not at the natural resting position) while you gain new scratches and all that twisting your arm between the subframe, exhaust, trans, and new mount. Pray you line it up fast, but expect to line it up in a few hours. One bolt is all you need, but I encourage you to put all three back.
Here are the photos of my dead mounts. The two side mounts were absolutely dead, just basically placeholders. The rear subframe mount wasn't actually bad, but, as I said, I was doing the clutch, so I figured I mine as well. That black piece will be the bane of my existence. That is the part that connects to the subframe and the transmission itself. Top one is the subframe to trans. Right is the one in the drivers fender well. and the bottom one is the one right under the battery tray. The first time the Fit has left the house in 6 months! Time for a bath! She look clean right after a bath. Can you even tell she has 290K? I apologize for the blurry photo, but I had taken this right after washing. Thought it would come out better than it did.
I went with and go with OEM parts whenever I can (assuming it's not largely marked up). AutoZone and rock auto parts are usually just junk in my own experience. Unless it's a Honda part made by NGK, and you just buy the NGK product. Then obviously it'd be about the same. But again, I like to just get that OEM stuff.
Also, that link above is for the automatic transmission. I was talking about the Manual transmission, which seems to be different.
What is the single pin connector to on the harness behind the battery tray below the brake master and behind the top trans mount? The pin came out when I replaced the mount and played hell trying to figure out why it wouldn't start after putting everything back together. Took hours of searching til seeing a random comment to look at that connector because the pin has a tendency to come out if you pull the harness when removing the battery tray.
Don't want to rip everything apart again to pull it and search for what it is
Reason for asking is that whatever this is, it completely disabled the fit from starting.

I need to take a look at mine as it looks kind of jacked up. In fact, I'm going to go take a picture of it so I can post it here (if I can beat the rain).
Well, it's raining so I'll post it later but as you pop the hood and look at the engine, it is the one on the left side. It looks like someone did some work on it. The motor isn't bouncing around as far as I know, so that's good.
That looks great about to do the motor mounts on mine only has 3 luckily being a automatic thought they left a spot for a 4th probably easier in manufacturing. Whoever the previous owner was covered it in stickers though so it's not as pretty sadly
