Sounds like my power steering fluid is low...

Sounds like my power steering fluid is low...
But we know that cant be the case, and the whining sound doesnt change when turning.. It changes with rpm.

Can the alternator sound like that? Very annoying whining, especially when cold?

Do you hear a loud noise upon start up? It's probably the Tension Pulley, a $16 dollar Napa part. It doesn't hurt anything that I know of, other than making noise.

Thanks and yes its louder when cold. I shot some oil on my Tension Pulley bearing , and the noise went away but time to order one from rock auto..

No.. Its a smaller stationary pully..

Mine was even louder.. A little penetrating fluid, and then some chain lube and good as new, for now.. lol
