Headlamps dying

Hi

I am original owner of 1st Gen Fit. Love it!
Question is headlamps. started to flicker occasionally. now only high beams work and running lights. Tested battery Voltage ok alternator ok. fuse continuity ok. checked voltage at fuses. with nothing on 7 volts at fuses with headlight switched on got 14 volts. When headlights shut off and engine running left headlamp glows dimly. ????

There was a recall in the US for an issue with the low beam headlight circuit. Your car wasn't imported from the US was it? Apparently the issue doesn't exist in Canadian 1st-gen Fits: https://www.cbc.ca/news/honda-recall...anada-1.975659

Try pulling the covers off the steering column (I think 3 phillips screws on the bottom)

there is a connector near the headlight switch that has a bunch of small wires unplug it and look for burnt or melted connector pins.

On mine I was able to just spray it down with electrical cleaner and swab it then put it back together.

Also if the above don’t seem to fix it, make sure the ground lines from the harness are not corroded. Give them a good clean. Drive safe!
