Cruise Control Issue

I have a 2008 Fit Sport, 151k miles. I'm having an issue with my cruise control staying on. The on/off button stays down just fine. When I turn the steering wheel there is a small butter zone where the cruise will stay on. If the wheel goes to the left or right of that sweet spot it turns off. I've done a lot of searching and most of what I've found is relate to the cruise control switch going out, which doesn't seem to be the case here since the button stays depressed. I'm guessing its a wire or connection issue somewhere but I'm at a loss of where to look. So far I've removed the airbag and checked the cruise control switch connection and shinned my flashlight under the dash to see if there was anything obvious. Any ideas on what could be causing this or where to look would be greatly appreciated!
