2008 Tire and Wheel Suggestion

I have a 2008 base model, manual transmission, on 14 inch wheels, tires have been swapped to 185 width, from the stock 175 width.
Currently they are dedicated summers, and then another set of dedicated winters, on ugly black steel wheels, with plastic hub caps over them.

What I want to do is go to a nice looking, simple, black wheel, without hubcaps, and a good year round tire to run 365 days a year.
Would like to stay the slightly wider 185 width tires.

Do i have to stay with 14 inch, or can I go to 15 inch wheels?
What are a good wheel, at reasonable price?
Good tires for year round use?

I live in Kelowna, it is a desert area, with extremely hot summers, but cold winters and yes snow and ice.
Thanks for all help and advice you can give.

These are possibilities if the quality is good.

Sorry I know zero about wheel quality, and never before purchased wheels, just used what was on the vehicle when I bought them.

It wouldn't hurt to go up to a 15 or even 16 at this point if you'll be using those wheels specifically outside of winter/snow season. Plus you'll have access to a larger tire selection as well (or so I see based on Tire Rack's website).

General tire sizes ran for 15s is 195/55R15 (factory size on Sports) and 205/50R15.

205/45R16s are usually ran with 16s. You give up a pinch more comfort over the 15s due to the thinner sidewalls but they work well.

Wheel widths usually range between the 6 to 7 inches and often featuring an offset in the +40 to +45mm range. Depending on vehicle alignment and suspension (lowered or not), you MIGHT be able to get a lower offset in the +35 to +38 range BUT you'll be more susceptible to experiencing tire rub. I do believe in our wheel & tire section on the forum there is a multitude of threads for the first gen/GDs that still have great info to help you make an informed decision.

Wheel manufactures such as Enkei and Kosei are known to produce OEM wheels for Honda and other makes along with their house brand wheels. Other aftermarket makes like Konig, Advanti Racing,Sparco, Borbet, etc. also produce quality aftermarket wheels as well... Its just a matter of finding one you like and checking up on reviews if you're legitimately concerned of their quality control and consistency.

Tires are a more subjective ordeal... Everyone has their own preferences. What seems to be a VERY popular choice in the Fit community and other groups are Continental DWS 06s (and the new 06+ as a replacement), Conti's Extreme Contact Sport, (Continental's lower tier brand) General Tire's Altimax RT43, and Yokohama's Advan Fleva V701 (Basically the new S.Drive) as a few benchmark tires to compare with.

The biggest thing with tires all hinge on what you're looking to get out of them as the main priority. It's a little bit of a give and take when it comes to cost vs comfort vs performance.

Want quiet, comfort and long lasting? It's not going to be grippy.

Want amazing grip and great steering response? It's not going to last long
