Poor Gas Milage and Oil Life

My 2007 Fit has been getting relatively poor gas mileage for the last few tanks. About 25 mpg. I recently moved to Seattle, so I expected some drop from the traffic and hills, but that seems like a lot. I was getting close to 38 on the highway previously, and around 32 when I was living in Detroit. So I was expecting to still hit something around low 30s.

It's unclear if this is related, but I also just had an oil change indicator light come on, saying my oil life is at 15%, but I've only driven about 1500 miles since my last oil change. Maybe Firestone screwed something up? Wrong oil or something?

I had since transmission leaking recently, but that seems to be fixed (no sign of leaking since addressing it and I check the levels now and then).

Looking for suggestions on things to check! I can do most things on my own that only require relatively basic tools. I don't really have a good way to get under my car, but could invest in some ramps or something.

The only thing I've checked so far is my engine air filter. It looked pretty clean, though it's been at least 10k miles since it's been changed, so I can certainly change that if it's a likely contributor.

Thanks!

How long ago was the oil change? My Jazz has no oil life indicator so I've no idea how it works but generally it's recommended to change every 12 months regardless of how much you drive.

If you make a lot of short trips, your economy would be worse. Plus the hills and traffic, and maybe colder weather now? Still, 25 seems like worse than should be possible with a Fit 🤷‍♀️

Oil change was just a couple months ago. My driving is mostly short trips, but I still think 25 seems quite low. Obviously I want better mileage, but I also want to be sure that it isn't indicative of a larger problem. I haven't had a good excuse to take a road trip lately, but hopefully sometime soon I can get a long highway drive in and see how it does.
