Tire rotation speed
Tire rotation speed
2007 Fit Sport stock. When the front end is lifted and in drive, the passenger wheel spins at twice the speed of the drivers wheel. I just want to know if this is normal. In neutral each wheel is equally easy to turn. When revved in the air the passenger side makes what sounds like a tick on each rotation, possibly an axle?
I am after a come-and-go vibration and humming. Driver swears its a wheel bearing. I'm not the driver but after test driving for 15 minutes all I could hear was the tire. If the bearing is bad also I can't tell because of the tire wubwubwubwubbing. I hear nothing abnormal and there is no play in the hubs when I spin the wheels. Passenger inner tie-rod is bad, will also be doing inner and outers.
Appointment for a 4 wheel rebalancing and inspection has been made for a couple days from now.

I think the different rotation speed is normal, some slight variation in resistance like brakes dragging would cause the differential to send most power to the other wheel. The ticking could be a CV joint but hard to say, just like this.Is it also making the noise when doing tight turns?
No other symptoms other than a vibration that comes once in a while at highway speeds. No real pattern to follow on it. No change in vibration accelerating decelerating coasting or turning, it's most likely the bad inner tie rod on the passenger side doing it.
As for noise, I am definitely hearing a bad bearing now (though I missed the tire appointment). The noise does alleviate while turning right but turning left does not make it worse.
