EPS Control Unit

Does anyone know where you can buy an electric power steering control unit / module for my 2007 fit? I went to Honda web sites and they don't seem to have the part. Did they discontinue this part?

Junkyards, probably.

Mine is behaving a bit weirdly, mostly it's fine but when turning lock to lock, it seems like there are a few spots when it suddenly doesn't do anything and steering becomes harder. Never had electric power steering but I assume that's not normal Not enough of an issue to do bother on an 18 year old car though.

My 2007 has been occasionally starting with no power steering, and a light on the dash, but then starts working after 30-60 seconds. The EPS module is like $900 or something outrageous. Has anyone tried to open one up? Maybe something like a failed capacitor inside? I put my ScanGauge in the car 5 weeks ago to see if I could catch a code, and of course it's been flawless since then.

I opened my EPS unit a year or two ago and replaced all the relays inside. I was getting codes that pointed in that direction.
There is a japanese fellow who has performed similar repairs as Honda under spec'd the relays in a few of their EPS units. Usually the contacts wear out from arcing over time. Swapping them out for better and higher amperage relays fixes the issue. I found some pictures and video of his repairs. They were in Japanese.

However in my case that turned out to not be the problem anyway. Or at least not anymore. EPS has gone from intermittent to not working as of late. I suspect my issue has to do with grounds or corrosion but the external power steering connectors look perfect.
I'll be diving into the issue in the coming weeks as I just finished getting the turbo kit running and with more power comes more responsibility.
