Keyless entry
Keyless entry
I replaced my ignition and door locks to solve the driver side lock issue that seems common with these, and the new ignition came with a key/fob in one. Can't seem to program that style of fob though. Does the keyless entry require the 08E61-S5D-1M001 fob? Or are there any other alternatives? I'd think any 433 mhz fob should work, but I don't actually know how the honda fobs communicate.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I know many discussions have been posted on this, but I've never seen thus particular question.
Side note, I found a spare 08e60-sln-100 in the wrecking yard. I'd be happy to sell to someone in need. Took me months of checking every new fit that came to the lots near me, and I found 2 in one day!

It would seem you do have to use that particular part number fob. Not sure why, but it programed immediately with that part number. 08E61-S5D-1M001 Too bad. Now I have a bulky fob style key and a separate key fob. Still worth having working door locks as well as the keyless entry though. Didn't have to have the immobilizer programmed by the stealership either. Just cut the old key apart and put the chip inside the fob style key.
Again, happy to sell my spare 08e60-sln-100 if anyone is interested. Could be a while before someone needs it, but these things are as rare as hens teeth. I like having the honda one. Now I can get the security system as well.
