Mouse-like Squeak when turning wheel to left at low/no speed.
So recently my Fit started squeaking at me when i turn wheel quickly to the left at low or no speed. It sounds like plastic so maybe its just dash but wondering what others thoughts are as figure this is most likely place someone has been through this exact issue before. Any research i've done names steering squeaks as one of those things where it could be multitude of problems from very minor to potentially serious.
To help a bit more with diagnosis it only happens at very low, like less then 10mph/16kph or when stationary, and only on initial start of turning into the left, it sounds very very much like a mouse squeaking, maybe a bit longer in nature (like 1-1.5 sec instead of say .5, or however long mice squeak irl), originally ignored it as likely being interior plastic sounds but I don't want to chance it. I can upload a video later if someone wants.

I too have a mouse type squeak in the interior of my fit. It took me months to figure out what it was because it happened so infrequently and without any kind of pattern or rhythm. Finally I realized that when I leaned forward just a tad bit my seat belt was the culprit.
I have a different noise when I turn the steering wheel that I haven't been able to describe. More on that later.
Okay so i've done more checks on the car. The outer Tie Rods show no slack, inner tire rods do, the outer do have visible signs of leaking even if no obvious tears (it seems they separated at bottom)
I have infact considered interior squeaks being a key cause, but i did a few power-off wheel turns with hood open, outside the car and its definitely coming from engine bay area more then interior, the interior just transfers the sound well.
After reviewing outer tie rods i'm less worried about it even though they are clearly starting the process of being worn out (leaking), nothing is too amiss but where exactly the squeak comes from i still have yet to figure out unless we assume its beginning phase of wear on said outer tie rods. Few good mechanics hopefully lined up soon, at least i'm in situation it doesn't make the car too risky to drive.
