Need help identifying front calipers for Brazil/mexico fit

Hello,

by way of greeting I have a 2008 honda fit with 513000km that was built in Brazil and sold in Mexico . It does not have the 2008 year facelift and it has an L15 motor.

the last two years have been a labor of love and frustration because every single part I order is wrong or doesn’t fit or it’s for the us/mexico build , which are different than Brazil.

i just rebuilt the engine and transmission and this took me three months to do. At the time I lived in a town where legal cars with clear title and legal plates were extremely hard to come by, and this is what I found.

now I have a stuck caliper and have a car that “goes” wonderfully and does not want to stop.

ok three attempts to do the brake job later and coming up with wrong caliper hardware every single time.. the holes line up but the caliper mounting brackets are too thick to slide between the rotor and the bolt holes… I cannot find the caliper for this car unless I go on Mercado libre and they won’t ship to the USA.

Can anyone please help me ID the Honda part number for this or a caliper that may bolt on in lieu of it? They are not NISSIM parts they’re only stamped I/S 569 and I/S 570.

the bolt holes are spaced and threaded correctly on all options I tried.

the bracket is too thick on all options I tried which are:
2000 civic
2007 us fit
2008 Mexico fit

read several guides on using a civic or integra caliper and caliper bracket but those mounting brackets are all also too thick to slide between the rotor and mounting holes.

i have the teeeeeny tiny rotor 231mm or something like that. Everything sold for the 2007 fit in the United States or Mexico “would” bolt directly on, including the larger rotor etc - but none of the caliper mounts will fit behind the bolt holes to where I can actually mount them.

I would gladly replace the whole front brake assembly - pads , rotors, calipers etc if anyone knows of a type that’s thin enough to slide in there and bolt on.

ps; I have rear drums which makes my car more like a 2004 fit/jazz. This car didn’t exist in the us market until 2007 which is why no one has a useable cross reference

thank you

I got a little closer and identified the oem caliper and pads:

Driver side caliper Honda oem PN: 45002-SAD-M01
it says this is compatible with a 2003-2008 Honda fit 1.4L , (although that’s not my engine.)

cannot find it anywhere but Brazil.

Bosch pads BB501

Hello:

I’ve answered my own question , but relied on some info here and another Honda forum.

if someone finds this on the internet some day and has the same question:

the Brazilian/mexican/LATAM FIT with a vin beginning in “9” probably has

- 240mm rotors
- “ATE” calipers stamped with “569” (left) and “570” (right).
- Bosch brake pads type BB03 for 2003-2008 1.4 fit (even if that’s not your car or you have an L15A).

the calipers and pads for a 2000 Honda civic CX are a direct bolt on

the caliper is the same for CX/DX/EX. However you will want the “CX” pads if you have a 240mm rotor so that the pads match the edge of the rotor perfectly.

the rotor for the Honda CX is too deep. mine are in acceptable condition. I’m measuring it and finding a compatible car/rotor . It’s cold out and I’m not excited about doing the brake job a fourth time outside in January. Replacement rotors are the easiest part of this any brake shop can measure it and find a suitable swap, I’ll come back and post what rotor I settled on when I get the ambition

advantage: now when I need pads I can just ask for the pads for the 2000 civic CX and they won’t be $150.

for the time being it’s common practice in Mexico for them to just refurbish new material onto brake shoes so I’m leaving those be as drums. I just did those.

this does not apply to you if you have a fit whose vin begins with JH (Japan) or “3” (Mexico) you have a larger rotor and can use whatever a parts store offers you for
a 2007/2008 Fit.
