JDM Honda Jazz 2005

Some questions concerning my new jazz, does the Japanese 2005 essentially use same parts as a 2008 north American Honda fit? Or a different year? As 2007 was when they started making them but the 2005 is better than my north American 2008. Better designed too. Tires same?

Also regarding keys, can one program a JDM key oneself? I know different frequency so you have to buy the right key first.

Is the key code all that is needed for it to be cut? Many online say the code is on the drivers door lock inside, as Honda says they can't use a Japanese Vin to cut key, as their systems do not speak Japanese.

Any info?

Thanks.

Not sure about keys (my JDM Fit is super-basic and has completely "dumb" keys) but for parts I can recommend jp-carparts.com. Even if you don't order from there, being able to browse the exploded views is very handy for identifying parts and part numbers.

Parts are quite different unfortunately. Depends on which engine is in yours. I live in Canada and have an 07 GD1 with the 1.3L iDSI engine, and very few parts are transferable. Just did my brakes and had to order rotors and pads from Japan for about ~$400 after tax and shipping.
