A 1 service- is it just oil & filter change?

My 2007 Fit has 16000 miles on it. The LED indicates it needs "A 1" service.

The dealer says that "A 1" means: oil and filter change, tire rotation and brake inspection, for a total of $81.00.

I asked them what would the LED indicate if the car only needed an oil and filter change, and I was told it would then just register an "A."

Is this correct? or is "A 1" the minimum service?

Also, do any of you good people have (or do you know where I can locate) a list of the services that are required for some of the more common service codes, for example, "A 1," "A 2," "B 1," "B 2," etc.

Thank you.

look in your owners manual. it lists all the maintenence minders there. it also tells you how to shut them off.

why would anybody READ THE MANUAL for the second biggest investment they will ever make (next to your house), for THE BIGGEST KILLER in NA (2500ish death machine), the thing that transports your friends/family.....why would any sane person waste just a few minutes to read the manual:r otfl:

whoa dude, relax ^

I don't read manuals for videogames unless I'm bored as hell.
I skimmed through the Fit manual and stopped a few times, but most things you figure out over time.

i've yet to read the FitS's manuals cover to cover... i check periodically
for maintenance requirements but that's all. i use it as a guide mostly to
keep my car within warranty and under good working order, not as an
owner's how to manual.

yup thats what an A1 is. oil change and tire rotation

its pointless IMO. i just get the oil changed and thats it.

if you want more info next time you go to service ask for a brochure because they should have them, we do, and it will tell you how much each one cost's and what they do.

to be honest if you know there is nothing wrong with your car just keep getting an oil change

Is what's worse is that even if you go by what they recommend, they dont do all the work. Nothing ever gets said in there about an alignment. a $200 inspection and oil change is what you get out of the deal...

No kidding! My dealership charges $25... whoops! $26.91 after tax for the same service!

Took it in a couple of weeks ago and got the 'B' service (oil change, tire rotation, all fluids, inspect brakes and exhaust, etc., etc. and so forth), and they, again, charged the same as the regular oil change.

A oil change is a oil change, your car has what 20 000km I dont know in miles lol. Does your car stop, make any noise, any lights on the dash besides the stupid wrench. then why you need a brake inspection. if anything get them serviced. only thing is I would recommend to try and do a tire rotation every 10-15 000km in miles I dont know. Where u live in a none harsh climate brake service should be done maybe once a year, harsh climate I recommend twice a year.

I would check my manual, but well, someone stole it... Don't know why, but it's not in my glovebox. Every other book is, just not it.
