Small noise at low speed
Small noise at low speed
Hello all.
I bought a 1.3L Manual Honda Jazz 2 weeks back. Its a 2005 model.
I have a small problem. When I drive at low speed (low like in traffic jams: 5 km/h), I hear a small noise. It sounds like there are 2 pieces of metal that are scratching against each other.
Anyone ever had the same problem? The noise seems to be coming from the left side wheel.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I had a similar scraping noise twice. Both times...it turned out to be a small rock got trapped between the metal splash plate and the back of the front brake disk. The rock was scrapping against the back of the disk and making that noise. I pushed the splash plate apart from the brake disk and the rock fell out.
Hope that's all it is.

i have a similar issue, when i am at the biting point and the car starts to move there seems to be the same noise that you mention.
I will also see whether its a stone but i am worried that it may be something else?

i have had that problem too. fortunately honda made a special knob which makes all these noises disappear. it the big knob right by the face of your stereo. its called the radio volume controller.
I apologize for bumping this thread back from the dead but I had this problem today and it scared the shit out of me. Did a search a found this (THANK GOD) and then pushed the plate and heard something fall out. Now the noise is gone!
THANKS!

I've heard of this happening on the Fit but never saw the thread, thanks.
Rocks stuck in brake parts is just not something my 47yrs of driving has shown me. Old days of drums all around sand was sometimes a thought, but never an issue.
