Temperature reading flashing??

Something strange happend today when I was out for a little drive.

I was going in 80km/t down a long hill, comming down from the mountains towards the sea. Suddenly the outside temparature was flashing! It was about +3°C in the area and I did not see it change when I drove up the hill, and it was also the same temperature up on top of that little mountain.
I thought first it was a ice-warning, but ice at +3°C does not make any sense. I have not seen it behave as this before.
When I was almost at the bottom of that hill the speed limits changed to 60km/t so I braked down, and the temperature reading stopped flashing at the same time.

It was a little windy today. The little road I drove on had a few spots off ice on it here and there, but it was not slippery at all. But it was also raining. Could it be that the windspeed and the driving speed together made a effective lower temperature tricking the sensor beleiving it was colder? But still, it was showing +3°C. If it was +1°C and started flashing I could take it as a ice-warning....
And I have been driving a lot in the wintertime with colder temeratures and have never seen it flashing like this.

What could it mean. I can't remember reading anything about this in the manual? Anybody know?
