Hi everyone! I'm borrowing a friends 07 Fit 5speed. Great little car! 60,000 miles, well maintained, etc. Of course I borrow it and it's now having problems. I noticed the speed sensor is starting to give up the ghost. Everything will be fine and then the speedo needle will start jumping. Not a big deal. Yesterday the check engine light came on, was gonna drive to the local parts store and have them pull codes. Stopped for gas, started the car, CEL was off and hasn't come back on since.

What worries me is I noticed when the speedo needle starts bouncing, the steering... For lack of a better description... Loosens up. Like... Not near as responsive as normal, and this has only happened while on the highway so it feels extra sketchy.

My question is, would a faulty speed sensor also affect steering? I'm not 100% positive it's a bad speed sensor but it's giving me all the symptoms, and I'm gonna go to a garage today to get the computer scanned to see if it stored the code it threw yesterday, but I figured I would check the forums as well.
