Speedometer issue

Alright ladies and gents,

I have a 2007 Honda Fit Sport MT.

I was driving last night down the interstate with the cruise on. It suddenly shut off, I looked down and the needle was bouncing between 60 - 80 MPH. Shortly after that it corrected it self. Then it went haywire again bouncing from 0 - 100 MPH.

I'm guessing this is a speed sensor issue? There are no warning lights at all. And the tachometer, gas level, and everything else is working properly. The car is performing in tip top shape otherwise.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions/ had this problem before, let me know what it was.

I'm going to grab the codes out if the computer tomorrow as well.

Thanks!

Speed sensor is going bad. I haven't had that problem with my Fit, but I've replaced 2 of them on Accords that I've owned previously. I don't remember what it cost, but it wasn't bad. It's a pretty minor repair.

Speed sensor plug located in the gearbox or transmission may have corroded ends or be going bad, has the EPS light come on yet?
