Cool Interest in custom-fit interior carpet?

So.. I'm sure alot of you feel the same way... but I am sick of the lame carpet in my car.
I decided to do a search on the ol' internet today for some good quality replacement floor carpet and
I came across this site: Stock Interiors
They do custom carpet kits that are molded to the floor pan... so they should have an OEM-FIT. (no pun intended hehe )

Unfortunately... they do not yet have a kit for the Honda Fit BUT they DO have a Carpet Kit Request form >>>HERE<<<
I hope that if enough Fit Freaks fill out the request form (don't worry, it's painless) they might offer a custom carpet mold for the Fit!

Most of the kits for other hatchback vehicles are in the $100-$200 range. It also seems like you can 'upgrade' the material for an additional charge...
I ordered a few samples to see what the quality is like (you can too! they are free!!) and they should arrive in about a week..
when they get here I could attempt to snap a few pictures of the samples.
If any of you are interested in replacing the floor carpet I encourage you to fill out the request form...
with any luck they will make a kit for our cars and we can ditch our cheap oem carpet in no time!

$200? SOLD.

I almost never bother filling out things like this - I hate the idea of companies getting a false impression of a market through the results of some over-zealous owners . . . but in this case, it'd be absolutely worth it. Request submitted.

I'd guess an hour for removal if you've done it before. Maybe 2 or 3 if you haven't.

Time for installation depends entirely on how precisely the replacement is cut. If all you've got is a 6x10' generic roll, it's gonna take a LONG time to get the fitment right . . . but these guys supposedly will have it all pre-fitted w/ all the corners & holes necessary.

It probably would take a couple hours to complete the whole project ... ie: to remove the seats and trim around the floor and finally the carpet. However, IMHO it would be sooo worth the effort.
According to thier website, the carpet comes slightly oversized around the edges so there would also be a bit of trimming (the new carpet) involved as well.

Getting floor mats would be much easier and cheaper, unless you want different colored carpet.

I went to the site and put in my request. I bet they are wondering where all these Fit freaks came from! Great find if they can come through.

i just received a carpet for my integra from them. i opted for the plush cut with the add mass backing option. it looks very well and the mass backing is pretty heavy duty. I havent installed it yet to test the fit due to waiting on paint, but i did some research before ordering and they have a very good reputation. cost with shipping was about 206 for mine. 60 of that was the added mass backing which is like a rubber bottom that is made for sound and heat insulation.

Thanks for the insider information! Could you post pictures of the carpet / finished product when you install it?

I used this company for my brothers 91 civic, they messed it up so bad, they cooked it in some areas that really blew my mind. and it requires you to cut the carpet, and fit it yourself. Yes they are molded in our pans, but if you look at plastic moldings, it's the same exact thing you're getting. The idea behind this is to make it easy to replace,. but in the end, if you don't feel comfortable with a blade, you will surely mess it up. My brother messed his up, but that still didn't explain the corners not fitting properly cause they molded it with some sort of rush.

I have yet to sleep, I'm rambling, please buy my brand new in box center console for 200$..... check the for sale section... I NEED SLEEP.

Definitely looks good! Thanks for the pics, that was very quick!
Will require cutting .. but as long as you check and re-check before making the cut you should be ok.
I also did some digging around and it looks like "Stock Interiors" is actually just a dealer for the manufacturer "ACC" -> ACC: your authority for custom automotive carpet, floor mats, and more
They have a request form too but more than likely both forms end up in the same place....
but Anyways.. the reason I bring this up is that it may be cheaper to get it straight from the manufacturer.
