Any thoughts? comparisons?

28,000 is pretty normal for the tires fitted stock. If you want better tire life go for 400 tire wear indices or higher..
There is no standard, just the UTOG rating for tread life. Higher performance, lower tread wear.
Honda chose pretty cheap tires for stock.

I do however love Michelins on my RR, as the Pilot Power race tires are great. MXV4s are f'n garbage. You are 10x more likely to just slide out of a corner or not stop in time and end up in someones bumpers. I HATE those tires. They make the shitty dunlops on the fit feel like F1 tires.

you wouldn't buy michelins based on what one set of thier universally known as crappy tires?(but you said you ran them on other cars....)

ugh kuhmos. not for me. good responsive tires, but comfy or quiet? no. tread is decent. wet grip however.....

is ATROCIOUS. they just cant get that down. you live where it rains? kuh-No's.

i wouldn't say 28K is "only". but then again perhaps i'm just to used to 12K miles lifespan on motorcycle with last 2-3K being not fun anymore and at a times pretty scary as it approaches the end. and that's no crotch rocket either.

at 20K miles now (not driving much anymore), hopefully the stock will keep me through the winter (was awesome for the last one). perhaps next summer i'll get a fun set (with fun rims hopefully)

I HATE MXV4s. I had a set on my accord from the factory, and they wore extremely quickly, and had no traction whatsoever, but they gave really good fuel mileage.

Meanwhile, I have been lowered in the fit since I bought it pretty much, have 33k-34k miles on it, and I still have like 5-6/32nds at least on my tires, nowhere near the Wear Bars. I just set the toe after lowering it on a laser alignment rack and never even rotate my tires. I just set my tire pressures to 35-37psi all the time, and it handles well, and rides nice.

Funny I found this thread as I just replaced the stock tires on mine today and I've got close to 39,000 miles on the original rubber with about 1/8 of the tread left. I did like the way the Dunlops handled in the rain. Now I got Toyo's that are supposed to last 60,000. We'll see.

Toyos are good tires. Great treadwear, pretty quiet. Reliable tires. Never had any issues with toyos at all, and they are reasonably priced.

Discount tire has numerous 195/55x15 priced $65 to $99 including shipping and if you get new wheels too they mount them free also. Most of their tires have much better wear life.
And yes 205/50x15's l;ook good on stock wheels but better on 6x15/45mm offset wheels. cheers.

Stock Dunlops

I'm pushing it now, but my stock Dunlops are now at 41,000. Getting new shoes all around tomorrow. Sounds like I've been lucky. (but then again, I drive pretty conservatively. Very little hard driving on Angeles Crest.)

My '07 Fit has 35,000 miles on it and is due for tires -- maybe 1/32nd til I'm down to the wear indicators. I'm waiting for the tax refund to pick up some Michelins. They'll last me 80,000.

I've got a little over 36k miles on the original tires on my '08 Fit, probably another 5k miles or so of life left in them. Probably in the spring I'll have to get a new set of tires.

Stock tires always wear out fast.... mine went at 30K,... 1 tire had a bubble... I am very careful with tires. I rotate at 5K.

46,500 miles on my original Dunlops.

As I have no tread left it may be a time to change out tires.

Tom.

You got 28k? My stock tires were worn enough at 15k that I felt the need to replace them. I have the Fit base with the tiny 14" wheels though. Replaced them with 15" wheels and 195 series tire size from the Sport model, vast improvement.
