Need new tires after only 28,000 miles

My front tires wore out at 16k, but a lot of my driving is on very twisty mountain roads. The Michelins I replaced the Ds with are ok, wearing a lot better, mileage not as good, running 36 psi, not as sticky as the OE tires. Got to do more homework before tire shopping next time

I've done 19k km with my Jazz, and had to replace fron<->rear tires, and now I have to buy new tires since the car isn't very driveable because the tires are almost slicks...
I'm runing on stock 14" rims and Yokohama Aspec tires (also stock).

My OEM tires lasted about 30K for me. I'm very happy with that life span. My previous car needed new tires every 8-10k. I went with the Kumho ASX's I've been pretty happy with them so far. They're quiet and ride nice. They offer plenty of grip and they were cheap.

If you plan to use these as anything but summer tires, I would actually highly advise against it. I currently have these tires on my SSRs, and although they were great during the warmer months, when the first snow fall hit unexpectedly in October, my vehicle was sliding around uncontrollably all over the place due to loss of traction.
As for the OEM Firestone tires that I currently have on my Honda Fit Sport, I too am currently having issues with premature wear and tear. Infact, after just normal running of errands here and there, to my surprise I can actually SMELL the tires inside of the vehicle.

I bought some Kumho KH16 Solus tires.
They are a grand touring tire.
They are MUCH quiter than the OEM tires. I love that.
They also take imperfections in the road much better. Less vibration comes in. Again, a grand touring tire.
The inital imput of the steering wheel is a little more vague though.
They seem to hold the road at least as well as the OEM's.
They are supposed to last 60,000 miles.
Got a good price through Tire Monkey. They were great to work with. Google Tire Monkey and you will find them.
So far so good,
Tom.

I do not like the Dunlops that came on my 08 Fit and have been researching the Good Year Eagle GT all season 195/60/15 @ tire rack for 313.88 delivered to my door. The Donlops are very noisey and are just about done @ 20k miles not even close to the 36K there rated for.

I would think that is not a bad mileage
I will be lucky if I get 15000 on my Lexus is300 and probably only 20000 on the fit
But I do like corners so I can't complain.

I have an 08' Sport lowered with a lowering coilover kit. I have yet to see a stock tire that lasts. I hated my stock rubber. I tend to push my car in the corners and they were horrible! All they did was moan and squeal when pushed at all. I replaced then at 28K with about 1/2 tread depth left.
Since I have dedicated snow tires mounted on separate rims I put on Dunlop Direzza Star Specs Z1. Absolutely love these tires. They stick like velcro, ride nice, never squeal or complain, great in the rain and with their relatively low wear rating are wearing quite nicely with 25,000 miles and 1/2 tread depth left. My only complaints are they will get noisy when they do start to wear and they feel a little dead driving straight. But not when turning any amount, they come to life then.
Having said all this, my next tire will be a Nokian i3, H or V. Not sure which yet. But it must be a European made model, not a made in China model. Something about rubber compounds. Speaking of which, these also have a pretty high wear rating. All reviews I have seen on them have been very positive.

27k and my car is only a year old!
I have to leave Monday morning at 3 am to drive 4 hours away to take my car to the dealer where I bought it because there have been 3 recalls on it already! I have a mail in my left rear tire and Big Brand just showed me that my front tires are out of tread. I had no clue, have shitty credit, and zero money. "Fortunately," it is only my two front tires that need to be replaced, but I note have to find a cosigner on Saturday afternoon to help me purchase two new tires. This is the 11th car (5th Honda) I have owned since I first got my driver license at age 16 (1982), and I have never purchased a hot-off-the-assembly-line car that needed tires within the first year! This is absolutely incredible!

I need new tires after 27,319 miles with a 2013 Honda Fit base automatic bought new on Jan. 8, 2013. It's 1/31/16.
I only drive about 9K miles/yr. and stay within 5 mph of the speed limit. I have my tires rotated and alignment checked at each oil change (Jan. each year).
Yes, tire wear depends on how you drive and I don't drive in a manner that would abnormally shorten wear.
