Need new rims. Suggestions? Difference from the 15s?
So I just tore up the side of my car on curb thanks to a pothole right next to the curb. Just turning a corner and my tire slips in and goes too close to the curb taking out the plastic side panel and scratching the hell out of my wheels. The tires look fine but the rims look bad. I've been thinking about moving up to 16s, just not like this.
What is the difference in handling between the 2007 Sport 15 alloys and a 16x7? I love the way the car handles but from what I read there's a better selection of tires with 16s. My tires don't have much longer left on them. I really like the style of these rims. Any feedback on this brand or the site? Any suggestions? The fit is so strange looking I'm not really sure what would look good but I know I like gunmetal.

When you increase wheel diameter and reduce tire section in order to maintain tire diameter close to stock will be a definite advantage in response. Going 195/55x15(23.44") to 205/45x16 (23.26") will yield better cornering and little reduction if any on mpg. The relationship between what you do with the steering wheel and what the direction change occurs with the tire will be a LOT quicker.
^^^I thought you didn't care for the 205 size.
The General Exclaim UHP's I just put on, 205/45/16, give a much better ride than the Bridgestone 760 Sports I had. Softer sidewall. MPG down about 1 mpg on avg due to the increase in tread depth.

if you are lowered, I'd say 16" would be the biggest to go. anything than that just looks out of proportion in my opinion. as far as styles, there are a whoooole bunch out there so have fun
Ya j5ive is correct about the fuel and that would change depending if you do more city driving or hiway. A shorter rim is better in the city for stop and go and the taller rim is better on the hiway for non stop point A to B traveling.
If it were me I'd get a price on powder coating or even a urathane finish (less $) more color choices, to start with unless your just itch'n for new rims with me it's how much and can I do it myself.

My OEM rim is curbed kinda like that too =/ Wanna send me your non-curbed one on the opposite side =D I'll pay you for it. I just need 1. Edit: Just realized it's a 07 =/ I need an 08 for TPMS.
+1 for Civic HX rims! CHEAP, Ive seen them around for $250 with good tires, & I plan on just reselling & buying a different set when I need it, which amounts to basically free wheels. When u consider price & weight (11lbs each) these are by far the best choice on a budget.
All other things being equal/identical... Cutting 28lbs of unsprung rotating mass is comparable to about 560lbs of static chassis mass.
Or having two of me get out of the vehicle... lol
