current draw at off.

Anyone out there know the current draw off the battery when the Fit is off; all doors shut, no lites, etc.
We always thought it was less than 50 ma but now we have a Fit that reads350 ma but no warning signals, alternator fine, but battery is down in 24 hours.
Before going fuse by fuse we hoped someone would save customer a lot of work.

Thats what we thought too. Surely wouldn't be over 250 ma and 10 to 25 ma seems right by memory. Last time we checked was years ago and modern cars have a lot more stuff that may be working when the car is down like the clock.
And no, its not a owner with remote starter. Stock also. Starter circuit sloenoid not engaged so starter uninvolved.
One thought is a failed battery cell that no acts as a resistance in-line.when the circuit is completed. We'll see today when another Fit is coming in.
Thats what its turned out to be: apparently failed cell reading high resistance. Substituting another battery got 25 ma same as another Fit. Tempted to drain battery sulfuric acid solution and replace with fresh, clean .1N sulfuric to see if the failed cell(s) due to contaminated cell fluid.
Now where do we find a replacement battery except from Honda ? Why the oddball size? Is it a group 44?

Thanks for interest. Knew I could count on Fit forums.

what year is the car youre looking at? the 07-08 is much simpler than the 09+.. i know this usually doesnt apply but hondas with the handfreelink draw a lot until the unit 'sleeps' 10min later.. but some would not sleep due to a faulty unit, killing the battery

This is an 08. It had been setting overnite before we hooked an ammeter in series. Good to know about the 10 min delay tho. Does the time start upon ignition key switch off or initiation of circuit ?

The 09 has a USB conection where the 08 does not but I didn't see in the brochures whether its Bluetooth or not. Circuit appears not to be active unless key is turned on but indeed may have a delay off.
Hey I'm old, deaf, and have no real idea what Bluetooth is.
I presume its some fany extended resolution signal capability. but I have no idea what its useful for. Is it important?

Bluetooth is a wireless protocol used by many electronic devices to connect instead of using a cable. In cars, bluetooth is to be able to connect a cell phone to a built in speaker phone. The 09 Honda may have a bluetooth dealer add-on that installs next to the map lights (not part of the sound system). Most new cars that have this option it's part of the sound system.

Hate the name bluetooth. Totally non-descriptive.

It's supposedly the name of a Scandinavian king of yore.

Although yeah, totally non-descriptive.

360mA is too high. our jetta is giving us battery problems at 400mA draw and it comes and goes ... unable to track it down so far, too much crap on each fuse
