I'll be autocrossing so i'm not looking for stretched tires but would rather have a sportier feel and sacrifice a little stance. I ended getting some 16 x 7's with 205/45/16's so I should be set in accordance with what you guys are saying

^ that is a good size. Although 15's with 205's and enough width with the right offset would do possibly better. For autox, its all about performance and bigger rims tend to weigh it down. I run 17x8 +32 and they are quite heavy even compared to my old hfp 16 inch. Or get some light rims.

You'll be OK if you have an 09 or 10 but if you have 08 or earlier 205/40x16 is preferrable for 'crossing (with a little extra gearing) unless you don't like the tire suppliers. 205/45x16's are close to stock '08 23.44" tire diameter but are heavier so acceleration suffers.
In any case ifyou're classed with Minis don't expect to win but have fun anyway. Who knows, you may be up against grunts.
Good luck.
