Speakers under waranty?
Speakers under waranty?
So my front driver side door speaker (Base model, stock stereo) is busted. Sounds like crap compared to the other three and it farts and is fuzzy on bass hits.
Not sure what could have caused it, I have the sound set at Bass +5, Treble +6, and almost never go over 8 on volume.
I'm gonna wait a couple of days once the weather dries out to see if it might get better for some reason, but I think I noticed it back when it was dry out.
I plan on calling the dealer about the speaker, but has anyone had a speaker replaced under warranty?
Getting more and more frustrated with car each and every day....

well, the whole car is under a 36,000 mile 3 yr warranty so if you are within those miles/years youll have a free replacement, if not youll have to pay.
good luck at the stealership and hope no one else has speaker problems. i plan to keep the stock stereo as long as it functions(not really big on ICE).

My drivers side speaker went to. I just did it myself. They're not cheap - around $50 online. They used to be $12 or so, not sure why the price went up. It's an easy DIY but honestly, it can't hurt to ask the dealer to cover it under warrantee. The worst he can do is say no.
If all four door speakers were blown, I might expect some pushback from the dealer, but since it's only one (unless you have done any sound mods, such as replacing the HU), I think the dealer to honor this as a warranty claim. But, you may get a raised eyebrow over "...almost never go over 8 on volume." Wouldn't hurt to dial the bass/treble settings back to 0 before the dealer visit.
Also, since you have a GD Fit, I believe that all of them are under a recall for a fix to the left door to prevent a water leak from shorting out the window motor. I can imagine a speaker going out from qater damage, so since they have to go in there anyway, it wouldn't be any significant extra effort to replace the speaker.

Honda is recalling 141,000 Honda Fit vehicles in which a malfunctioning switch can cause the vehicle to overheat and catch fire. This issue may occur when extreme amounts of moisture from rain or melted snow flood the driver’s side master power window switch.
