What did you do to the GD Fit today?

Honda recommends valve adjust at 105k miles. I worked for Honda for a bit and had some cars that didn't even need adjustment even at that mileage. The exhaust valves are usually the only ones to start getting tight do to the heat.

I set the valve clearance on the Fit at 41000 miles.. They were off some but not horribly so.. Air cooled VWs, British bikes and Harleys with high lift cam and solid lifters need to have the valve clearances looked at in as little as 3000 miles after a valve job or top end overhaul.. These tiny multi valve engines don't need much attention but they are so easy to get to I don't mind doing them.. The thing is noticeably quieter even with the WeaponR intake manifold on it.. It's strange to me that the Weapon R racing exhaust is considerably quieter than the Megan street header it replaced.. Maybe I can now drive between 60 and 80 without earplugs.. I wish I could figure out a way to shut down the volume of tinitis.. It could be that it's what is drowning out the engine and exhaust noise.. As soon as I get the redneck boy down the road to pay me for some cars I had him scrap and finish putting in more lighting in the barn, I'm going to get drunk and stay that way until the Fit is ready to drive.. Not drinking has got to be what has thrown me off, along with a bout with some nasty strain of flu and local shortage of beef tripe for menudo.

The Damn Long Wait
It's my first ride ever using my own money. Been waiting to buy one for so long, but circumstances have lead my funds elsewhere. Now, its finally become a reality and I'm excited like a teenage boy and going through 2nd and 3rd base!
Two weeks ago, I went to a dealer, and put up the downpayment, and waited since I had to go through credit investigation. While waiting, the dealer, already started on the body work and paint job I had requested for.
The car was finally done to my exact specifications, and I was sent photos of the progress too (exhibit A). So they did what any dealer would, and proudly displayed my unit in front of their garage for the whole world to see (who wouldn't right?
Call it destiny, fate, or God getting bored and picking on me; but as I was patiently waiting for the financing company's approval, some jackass with a shitload of cash offered the dealer an additional 50% on the price tag to buy my unit! Since the garage had no word from the financing company, they did what any businessman would do, and sold the unit for +50% in cash
Know whats annoying? 3 hours later, the financing company calls the garage up and tells them I'm approved, and can release the unit to me
Hey, that's life right?. The dealer is now preparing a new unit for me (exhibit B) and threw in Fabulous wrap around kit (for the potential heartache I incurred) and a pretty good discount on the brandnew 17" rims and tires.
One more week to go... LEts see how it goes.

washed and waxed the fit, she needed it bad. Haven't done any thing for my fit in a while since I bought a 65 ford galaxie 500 big block that I've been trying to restore. my goal is to get it running reliably and legally before the goodguys rod and custom show in june.

Today I replaced a burned out left front headlight bulb in my daughter's GD.
I thought this would be pretty simple as it only took me 10 minutes to replace both of the headlight bulbs on my GE. As others had suggested, it's a lot easier if you remove the wheel and peel back the fender liner. Well I was stubborn and didn't remove the wheel. I just turned it all the way out, pulled back the liner and felt around blindly at the back of the headlight.
I forgot to mention that the bulb is not accessible from the top and when you go in through the wheel well there is a standoff sticking out that does a hell of a job on your arm.
Working blindly, I was able to pull out the connector and the rubber grommet, unhook the retaining wire, and remove the old bulb. Reversing the procedure, I inserted the new bulb, and that's where all progress stopped. The retaining wire was a real bitch to try and reconnect. After struggling for about an hour of working blind,I finally broke down and removed the wheel. After removing the wheel, I had enough room to get an inspection mirror up there and see what I was doing.
It was a frustrating experience but I finally got the job done. Next time should be a lot quicker since I now intimately know how the clip is attached. Can't wait for the other side to burn out!

Looks like you need some black headlights now too. I guess the car was white to begin with.
I like the color, just don't know if I wanna spend all that money on my Fit to get it painted. Mine is silver, so I'd need a color that wouldn't make the underhood and door jams look weird.
LOL, I did the same to mine today. Except I have a hole in the liner from where it fell onto the tire. So now I just have an access hole for the D/S headlight and more air to get into the intake since it sucks air in from there anyway.

Pictures of the interior now that I have both JDM driver and passenger sun visors, JDM map light, and JDM roof console installed.
Also a little goodie I picked up from J's Racing.
EDIT: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141167428434 Found this from FaceBook if anyone is interested in the JDM sun visors. Looks like an awesome opportunity

Today is a sad day for me and my Fit. Honda has not stopped calling about the window recall so now I'm finally having it done. Bringing her in tonight after work and getting her tomorrow after work. It's a sad day for me. Been trying to keep her out of their service bay for months now. But they told me if it blows up it's on my hands for not fixing it lol. Kinds true but kinda harsh. So I lose her for a day. But I will be driving a white 2013 auto FiT for a day. I prefer my silver manual 07. But oh well.

I have a Mugen card holder that I keep in here. It holds all my random business cards and such.
Not really sure what is up here.
It's empty and can prob fit stuff, but I'll most likely keep it empty.
Mugen front grill. I'll keep this on for now, but I think I'll eventually switch back to the OEM in the summer.
