Help Please - running wires to top of dash.

Hi there,

I took my car in to a customization place today and had them install a DC power outlet on the top of my dash. They did it, but they didn't leave me enough slack to place the outlet where I wanted it.

The ran the wiring through the driver gauge console. How do I remove it so that I can find where the slack is and pull some more out? I tried to remove it myself but I think I bent something a little bit, so obviously I'm doing it wrong.

I'm in an '08 Fit.

Thanks in advance!

If you mean the main instrument cluster, there is a DIY in interior modification section I believe. You will need to pull the gauge cover off and remove a few screws to get at the cluster. It seems hard but really isn't. Do you know where they pulled power from? It would be easist to start from there, rather than starting at the outlet and back-tracking. HTH

Hi - thanks for the response - I can't find the interior mod section on here.. but for the gauge cover - this is the plastic clear covers over the guages? Do they just pull off? Any tricks to it? I don't want to damage anything..

I don't know where they pulled power from. It's tied to the ignition, though.

The clear plastic part is actually part of the gauge cluster it all comes out as one piece. But first you have to remove all the trim that holds the cluster in the dash. This includes the hood over the gauges. The part you just pull off is the trim panel that you look at every day covering the gauges.
